Use Toolmu search-internships-idealist to search the internship topic and work arrangement I describe in everyday words. Reuse a working Toolmu connection or follow https://toolmu.com/SKILL.md to connect. Check current inputs, availability and every credit ceiling; all lookups and pages must fit my authorization and total budget. Prepare the actual keywords internally and map clear onsite, remote or hybrid preferences to the documented options. Handle the initial zero-indexed page and further pages internally, using returned page information only when I ask for more. Never ask me to supply coordinates, meter values or page codes. If I request a geographic area, ask for the familiar city/place and desired distance. Apply geographic filtering only after a reliable supported lookup returns an unambiguous location; convert ordinary distance units to the documented meters internally. Do not invent coordinates or call location keywords a radius filter. If no reliable location can be prepared, clarify a familiar address or whether I want the supported keyword/work-arrangement search without a geographic filter. Present actual role, host, location or remote restrictions, payment labels and source links. Preserve incomplete match counts and conflicting compensation wording. Remote does not mean anywhere and a pay label does not confirm amount or terms. Keep real selected record information for any separately requested detail lookup; do not apply.

Task:

Search Idealist internships by area or remote work

Describe the internship topic and whether you prefer onsite, remote or hybrid work. Your assistant prepares supported search choices and reviews the returned roles, organizations and conditions.

You receive

Review one page of internship results with available role names, host organizations, descriptions, work locations, payment categories and source pages. You can select a returned role for a separate detail lookup. Page information and the source-reported match count describe the search scope; any incomplete-count indication must remain visible.

Start with your task

Find Idealist internships related to [internship topic or keywords] with [work arrangement, such as remote]. Start with the first page and show each returned role, organization, geographic conditions, payment information and source page.

What to know

Remote listings may restrict where participants can be based. Payment categories do not establish an amount or confirmed terms; descriptions may differ. Search results are not an application, a guaranteed open placement or a complete current inventory.

Result schema

No fixed output contract is available. Field types reflect saved result evidence; individual responses can differ.

Result schema
Field / Path	Type	Meaning
Internship listings`result.data.hits`	`array`	Internship entries returned for this page, not a full detail record or complete current inventory.
Internship name`result.data.hits[].name`	`string`	Role or internship title supplied by Idealist.
Host organization`result.data.hits[].orgName`	`string`	Organization name attached to the listing; it does not establish legal nonprofit status.
Listing description`result.data.hits[].description`	`string`	Description returned in the search entry. Check the detail page for the full conditions and any conflicting labels.
Internship identifier`result.data.hits[].objectID`	`string`	Listing identifier for a separate internship detail lookup. It is not an organization ID.
English listing page`result.data.hits[].url.en`	`string`	English source-page reference for this internship, when provided.
Listing work-location type`result.data.hits[].locationType`	`string`	Source label such as ONSITE, REMOTE or HYBRID. Read it with the geographic scope and description.
Listing city`result.data.hits[].city`	`string \| null`	City attached to the listing; a remote or hybrid listing may have separate participation conditions.
Listing country`result.data.hits[].country`	`string`	Country value supplied for the listing location, not a guarantee of worldwide participation.
Remote geographic scope`result.data.hits[].remoteZone`	`null \| string`	Source scope label, such as COUNTRY or CITY, when supplied. Null does not establish unrestricted participation.
Remote country condition`result.data.hits[].remoteCountry`	`null \| string`	Country condition supplied for remote participation. Keep null when the source does not provide a value.
Payment category`result.data.hits[].payment`	`string`	Source category, such as STIPEND for a stipend or HOURLY for hourly terms. It is not an amount, currency or confirmed compensation agreement.
Returned page`result.data.page`	`number`	Returned zero-based page number; 0 identifies the first page.
Reported page count`result.data.nbPages`	`number`	Page count reported for this search response, subject to the supplier access limit and search completeness.
Reported match count`result.data.nbHits`	`number`	Reported matching-entry count. Read exhaustiveNbHits alongside it; a false completeness flag does not establish an exact exhaustive total.
Reported entries per page`result.data.hitsPerPage`	`number`	Page-size value returned by the source. The number of actual entries may be lower.
Match-count completeness`result.data.exhaustiveNbHits`	`boolean`	Whether the source reports the match count as exhaustive. Preserve the returned boolean rather than treating a false value as a complete count.

Additional notes

To find internships near you, provide the latitude and longitude of the area you want to search and a radius in meters. For remote internships, set location_type to REMOTE and check the returned geographic scope alongside the description; a remote label does not mean participation is available from every country.

Request page 0 for the first page, then choose another page explicitly when needed. The supplier documents 20 results per page and access to up to 50 pages. Reported matches and page counts describe the search response; a non-exhaustive count does not establish every matching internship or a fixed inventory.

Use the listing identifier and source page to check the full role, participation and application conditions. See the current Tool input requirements.
