Enter one IBAN to check its country-specific structure, expected length and MOD-97 check digits. The response includes a format-validation status and may include parsed values such as country code, check digits, expected length, BBAN, and bank or branch codes. A bank_code is parsed from the IBAN; it is not a bank-name or BIC lookup.

Strale describes this capability as algorithmic IBAN validation. Its IBAN validation capability lists the checks and possible parsed values. SWIFT’s IBAN Registry explains that national IBAN formats differ and publishes format specifications for ISO 13616.
