This Tool retrieves quote information for a supplied stock symbol. The required symbol identifies the requested security; an optional asset-category string can provide the intended category. Read the returned company, exchange and asset labels to check the result's identity.

A primary quote can provide a last-sale price, displayed price changes and available bid, ask, size or volume information. A secondary closing snapshot, when present, has its own price, changes and time. Keep the two groups intact so the brief does not combine different snapshots.

Use the quote's source time and market labels to describe its context. Preserve any ET designation or Closed wording. The request completion time is a separate event, and a real-time flag does not establish the service's refresh rate or guarantee an executable price.

Keep monetary symbols, signs, percentages and number formats as supplied. A dollar sign alone does not identify a currency when no currency code is given. Retain volume precision without adding a unit or time window, and describe changes using their source labels rather than assuming a previous-close comparison.
