# Brand social listening review

## Before you start

Read [the shared research contract](../connect-toolmu/references/research-data.md) and [marketplace usage](../connect-toolmu/references/marketplace-usage.md). Use the existing Toolmu connection. The agent performs analysis; Toolmu supplies the evidence.

## Inputs

Brand and disambiguating website, up to two competitors, platforms, language, and a common date window.

Ask only for information that changes the task. Accept ordinary links and names; resolve technical identifiers from verified results. Confirm missing market or scope before dependent paid calls.

## Tool selection

Inspect the current contract with Toolmu `get_tool`, then call `execute_tool` only for the steps that need data:

- `reddit-search-across-content-types-reddit`
- `reddit-app-post-comments-reddit`
- `search-notes-xiaohongshu`
- `get-note-comments-xiaohongshu`
- `general-search-instagram`

The catalog's current input and credit ceiling override examples in this document. Do not fabricate parameters, silently use a different supplier, or treat a search snippet as full source content.

## Workflow

1. Identify brand aliases and exclude clearly unrelated entities by reading context. Keep the selected brands, markets, and time window explicit.

2. Run equivalent queries and sampling rules for each brand. Separate owned promotional content, disclosed partnerships, and independent discussion where evidence supports the distinction.

3. Read the most relevant posts and comments, preserving original links, dates, collection coverage, and missing pages.

4. Classify feedback by the user's expressed reason: product quality, usability, service, price, availability, or another evidence-supported theme. Include mixed and neutral feedback; do not force ambiguous sarcasm into positive/negative labels.

5. Compare theme counts within comparable samples. Show source examples and counterexamples. Mark unequal sample sizes and do not imply population share of voice.

6. Translate repeated concerns into specific product, support, or positioning actions. Keep draft response suggestions separate from any publishing action.

## Deliver

A brand comparison with sampled discussion counts, recurring positive/negative/mixed themes, source-linked quotes, and a short action list.

Include source links, actual market/date, returned sample size, missing coverage, run IDs, and confirmed credits. Let the user's agent choose the presentation; do not invoke an MCP App or a render tool.

## Boundaries

No always-on monitoring or exhaustive reputation score. Do not invent sentiment percentages from unread comments or send public replies.

## Example request

> Compare feedback on [our brand] and [two competitors] on [platform] during [date window].
